The reference 565 is one of the most classic gentleman wristwatches of the 20th century. It's simple and it's never going to go out of style. Released in 1938 and in production until 1952, the model was created for a public with a growing interest in outdoor activities and featured innovative and enduring qualities. So these watches offered a robust stainless steel case, a screw-down caseback for enhanced protection against humidity and dust, an inner soft iron cover to shield the movement against magnetic fields and a larger case diameter of 35mm compared with earlier reference 96.

The present watch is an attractive variant of the early Calatrava wristwatch and is in outstanding original condition. The case features sharp finishes and crisp edges. The dial is even more impressive with its two-tone composition, the applied baton and Arabic numerals, the feuille hands and the subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock with concentric guillochè decoration. It also features the hard enamel printed Patek Philippe & Co. long signature, only seen on watches made before 1947. This Patek Philippe is a timeless treasure designed to last, and it is set to become even more collectible in the future.
