Gallet & Company was officially registered by Julien Gallet in 1826, who moved the family business from Geneva to La Chaux-de-Fonds. Gallet became famous in the 1930 and '40s for their amazing MultiChron chronographs with multiple recording abilities, produced primarily for military, industrial, auto racing, and other professional applications. The brand held an extremely strong reputation in its day for being one of the best chronograph manufacturers in the world. Our Gallet Multichron features three registers, used for tracking elapsed time: typically, one for seconds, another for minutes, and one for 12-hour tracking, which enhances its functionality for timing events. The flawless silverish-white dial with black Arabic numerals and blue and red coloured outer scales for tracking speed and distance allows for quick and precise reading. Internally, the chronograph is fitted with the rare and "high accuracy" Excelsior Park 40-68 movement, known to be one of the best designed and most reliable movements of this era.

This charismatic, graceful chronograph from the pioneering Gallet brand, preserved in excellent condition, is a piece of watchmaking history that epitomises the precision and reliability that was paramount during the mid-20th century. Besides, the watch with its 37 mm diameter is a lovely wear - comfortable and balanced on the wrist.
